I missed The League Live but heard it was amazing.įunny stuff with Paul. Human Giant was great and he killsit on The League. He has worked very hard and is an unparallelled performer. It’s good to see Paul Scheer getting well deserved attentioned. Then I learned every Weezer song on my violin. I never had music as a kid I was born a music genius and played concert violin at age 2. I love the “firsts” question and thinking about my own firsts. Either A Fresh Aire Christmas or Christmas Extraordinnaire. My first CD was one of Mannheim Steamroller’s Christmas CDs. My friends and I listened to it endlessly. The first cassette I ever bought was Rhythm Nation by Janet Jackson. I loved the Disney Robin Hood soundtrack (the one with the foxes).

I never bought a record, but I had a bunch as a kid. The first CD ever gifted to me was a Tony! Toni! Tone! CD. I was thirteen and had a crush on every boy. I honestly think the theme song gave me chills. I have NO IDEA WHY but I listened to it all the time. The first CD I ever bought was the Baywatch soundtrack. Okay, for the first time ever I’m admitting this. *cough*įirst album I remember actually buying for myself (got a couple as gifts earlier…) was Flood by They Might Be Giants. In reality, I’m sure it was something much edgier and cooler, like I was. However this is just a guess, and should be regarded accordingly. If I had to take a stab at it, I would guess Madonna’s “True Blue”. It is truly an ode to my dysfunctional brain that I can’t remember the first cassette I bought with my own money. I was a sucker for cliche musicals in my tween years. Ruining my indie cred, I’m fairly certain my first cassette that I bought was either Bette Midler’s Beaches or Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Greatest Hits. But that wasn’t the first album I owned cause I had a few tapes before then. My first CD I bought (also through BMG) was Nirvana – Nevermind. I miss the days when a mixTAPE meant something. Between “Yo! MTV Raps” & “120 Minutes” I feel like I had my bases covered. This would later be followed in my musical development by the well known, “Beatles phase”, the typical junior high “Led Zeppelin phase” and would eventually lead to the early/mid-ninties “120 minutes” phase. Big fan of Paul’s (as well as Rob & Aziz) First cassette I bought with my own money: LL Cool J’s “Bigger & Deffer.” Having just received DMC’s “Raising Hell” & the Beastie’s “Licensed to Ill” earlier for my birthday, I was in my full-on “Yo! MTV Raps” hip hop phase. The first CD I got with my onw money was Foo Fighter’s “The Colour And The Shape”Īnother great episode. I was a weird little kid.Ĭomment by Maximiliano Ruocco - Novem 2:41 pm Now that I think about it, I remember getting a cassette player at a very young age and the for reasons beyond me the only tape I had was a single of “How Can We Be Lovers” by Michael Bolton.
If that counts then the first CD I remember choosing on my own was Weird Al’s Bad Hair Day. Then my mom would have to get a bill, get mad at me, pay the bonkers amount of shipping then ask them to cancel the account since they somehow allowed a child to open it.

Hm… first CD I bought with my money was probably the South Park soundtrack… that being said, as a child, several time I would sign up for BMG to get the “10 Free CD’s”. I still listen to it but it’s kind of a guilty pleasure. In 12 hour drive, I must have listened to it 20 times. My family went on vacation not long after I got it and it was the only CD I brought and needed. I had previously borrowed (stole) Hybrid Theory from my older sister and it never left my CD player.

The first record I ever bought with my own money was Linkin Park’s Meteora when I was 12. I still constantly listen to it.Īwesome show as always, Paul Scheer is seriously amazing. My first allowance bought CD was in 1999 and that was Smash Mouth’s Astro Lounge. The first record I bought was last year with my paycheck. As for the question I feel like I’m always the wrong demographic. The streak is over! The twins deserve to have that ‘don’t talk to me’ attitude.
